DNR Warning: Warm Weather Leads to Thin Ice
DES MOINES, Iowa-The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is a warning of the possibility of thin ice on Iowa lakes, especially in the southern part of the state. In a news release DNR Fisheries Biologist, Ben Dodd warns the warm weather has not been good for firm ice. “The stretch of warm and windy weather we are experiencing will likely cause many of our areas to deteriorate, especially along shore. Anglers should use caution around the edges when getting on and off the ice,” said Dodd.
