Clarinda Native Son Glenn Miller Remembered
CLARINDA, Iowa -- At the Glenn Miller Birthplace Museum there was a wreath-laying ceremony Sunday to mark 70 years since the Clarinda native disappeared. Glenn Miller was a popular band leader in the 40's who volunteered to serve his country in the Army-Air Force Band. Miller's plane was lost on December 15th of 1944. His memory is kept alive in Clarinda. The house where he was born has been restored, and there is a museum to house his memorabilia, which was constructed next door to his birthplace.
