AGRIBUSINESS: Brazil Too Dry, Can’t Plant Beans
While Iowa just got into excellent harvest weather, Brazilian farmers have been struggling getting seeds in the ground. Right now, it's too dry, kind of the opposite problem Iowa had earlier this year. Meteorologist Mike Tannura says many areas there are running between two and four inch rain deficits this month. This weekend parts of Brazil got a little rain, but farmers will have to wait for more to replenish dry soils before they can plant soybeans.
