Consulting Firm Recommends Cost Cutting Measures For Iowa Universities
URBANDALE, Iowa -- An efficiency study has recognized eight ways Iowa's three public universities can save money. Over the last ten weeks a consulting firm has been at each of the schools twice. The Iowa Board of Regents approved the study at a cost of $2.5 million. The firm found a list of concerns but is moving forward with improvements in eight areas. They include bettering purchasing practices, optimizing how IT services are provided, finding better ways to use university space, cutting utility costs, and simplifying financial services.
