BORLAUG STATUE: Artist Speaks On Subject
An artist’s work is just about wrapped up here in Iowa on a statue honoring Cresco native, Dr. Norman Borlaug. Borlaug is credited for developing strains of wheat which could grow in various climates. Experts say his work saved a billion lives. Benjamin Victor has been working for two weeks at the Iowa Historical Building trying to capture Borlaug's image. The finished statue will be placed in the U.S. Capitol.
