DEATH INVESTIGATION: Documents Released
We're learning more details about the invetigation into a young Boone mother of three. Dozens of pages of recently unsealed court documents show investigators question whether Emily Fazzino's death was a suicide. Police were called to the 34-year old's home on January 29th after her husband, Alexander reported finding her unresponsive in the family's bath tub.According to a Boone County Sheriffs dispatch report, a "Hysterical person called 911 and was completely unintelligible at first." and said that "Someone was attempting to drown herself in the tub". The caller was later identified as Alexander Fazzino.Crews were not able to revive Mrs Fazzino.Warrants unsealed this week show more details about the death, including an autopsy report that indicates "Several areas of trauma to head including large contusion on her forehead"Reports also show Alexander Fazzino told police "His wife Emily had an addiction to prescription medication" and that "Emily had served him with divorce papers last week".The report also shows "Alexander Fazzino told investigators that a large deposit ($200,000) was made to their account but was immediately withdrawn a few days later. Alexander Fazzino stated he did not know where the money came from or where it went."Search warrants show investigators seized cell phones, computers and hard drives from the couple's home. But perhaps the most telling part of these documents, a decision by Second District Judge Kurt Stoebe saying, "This is an investigation involving a homicide. This is a significant matter and the safety of the public may be at issue."An investigator with the State Department of Criminal Investigation did not return calls for comment. Family of Fazzino refused to comment.
