Downtown Kum & Go Office will Provide Public Space
DES MOINES, Iowa - A groundbreaking ceremony held earlier this week on Kum & Go's new $151 million headquarters project previews the construction to come beginning in early November. Located at 1459 Grand Avenue and facing the Pappajohn Sculpture Park, the Krause Gateway Center will stand five stories tall and host around 800 employees, Kum & Go representatives say. Renderings released by Kum & Go and architect Renzo Piano showcase a modern design that only takes up a third of the site's property; the rest will be used as public space, filled with trees and plants, called "the forest." It's intended to be an extension of the sculpture park across the street. The building will also feature a rooftop garden.
