Heavy rain rolls over metro Denver, cause flooding in some areas
DENVER -- Powerful storms brought heavy rain, hail, lightning and flooding to parts of metro Denver Thursday night. The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for south central Denver, western Arapahoe and north central Douglas Counties until 10:30 p.m. High water shut down the intersection of Alameda and Havana before 8:00 p.m. The rain hit so fast and furious that some drivers were stranded in their flooded out cars. Some neighborhoods in that area received 2.5-3" of rain Thursday night.
