Officials look at Colorado prisons as possible homes for Guantanamo detainees
FLORENCE, Colo. -- The idea of detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, coming to Colorado took another step forward Tuesday. Representatives from the Pentagon visited two prison facilities in southern Colorado to see if they could house some of the world's most dangerous terrorists. Officials with the Department of Defense conducted site surveys at the State Penitentiary in Canon City and the federal prison facility in Florence. The visits are for informational purposes.
