Gas prices on the rise ahead of Memorial Day weekend
DENVER -- With Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer just a week away, there’s some bad news at the gas pumps as prices are spiking and could impact travel plans. Nationwide, gas prices have jumped about 22 cents in the past three weeks. The average Denver-area gas prices are $2.55 for a gallon of regular. One month ago, the average price was $2.28 per gallon, though one year ago, prices were running at $3.43 a gallon.
