U.S. 34 reopens near Estes Park after SWAT standoff
ESTES PARK, Colo. -- Westbound U.S. 34 was closed going into Estes Park on Monday due to a police standoff with a man who "may be armed and suicidal" at a lodge on the eastern edge of the mountain town, according to the Larimer County Sheriff. Shortly before 3 p.m., the sheriff's office indicated the standoff had ended and the individual was in custody "pending the conclusion of the investigation."
