Substitute teacher sentenced in bomb threat case
DENVER – A former substitute teacher was sentenced Thursday to 180-days of home detention for leaving a note with a bomb threat at an elementary school last fall. Jennifer Gomes, 42, had previously pleaded guilty to false reporting of explosives, a class 6 felony. On Oct. 17, 2011, prosecutors say Gomes left a note at the main entrance to Escuela de Guadalupe School at 3401 Pecos Street in Denver which read “there is a bomb inside.”
