Maple Leafs Prospects Update – February 22 2015 | Leafs Hub
CHL When we last visited Carter Verhaeghe, he had turned the corner on a slow start to his season and he hasn't looked back since. Since mid-December, Verhaeghe has played 26 games, amassing 15 goals and 24 assists. As you can see from his stats below, he is well above the point-per-game pace again this season and his increased production has helped the IceDogs climb from being a playoff contender, to 5th place in the Eastern Conference and a virtual lock to see post-season action. Another aspect of Verhaeghe's maturation is his commitment to a better 200 foot game. He currently has a +14 rating, far more appealing than the -19 he registered last season and the -12 he had in 2012-13. I'm sure this is an aspect of his game that the Leafs player development team was wanting him to work on and the evidence suggests he has indeed been doing so.
