The Leafs are back in action tonight after a couple of days off and they'll get a boost to the lineup as John Tavares will make his return to the lineup. He last played on Oct. 16th versus the Washington Capitals. A broken finger forced him to sit for 8 games. The insertion of Nic Petan is a little more peculiar to me. He had 5pts (2G, 3A) in two games for the AHLs Toronto Marlies over the weekend, but he has never been able to get a foothold in the NHL. I do wonder if an extended stay in the minors might actually do him some good if he's in the Leafs plans moving forward. If he isn't then this could be a showcase game at the request of another team. In order for Petan to come out of the lineup Dmytro Timashov must sit. He got off to a fine start to his NHL career but has slowed a little of late. He's still young and has some learning to do, so watching a game from above isn't exactly a terrible idea. It might just be
