Kasperi Kapanen and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be happy to play this rare Monday night game against the visiting St. Louis Blues tonight, if for no other reason than not having to sit around and stew on the collapse that was Saturdays shootout loss to the Montreal Canadians. With a 4-1 lead in the 3rd period the Canadians didn't win, the Leafs found a way to lose. Undisciplined play that peaked with Kapanen throwing his broken stick at the puck while it was on Jeff Petrys stick, which lead to Petry being awarded a penalty shot and tying the game, resulted in the Buds going down 5-4 before Auston Matthews continued his hot play, and scored his second goal of the game to send the tilt to overtime. They were lucky to get the loser point, as they didn't bring the battle needed for 60 minutes in order to win. But I digress, this should be about the Blues, not the Canadians.
