Solution Focused Hypnotherapy | Katie Rose Hypnotherapy
What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy? Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines talking therapy with guided relaxation to help eliminate unhelpful beliefs and thinking styles and create a more positive and rational mindset. More analytical styles of psychotherapy usually involve delving into the past and looking at the reasons why the problem has arisen, but SFH differs because the focus will be on the present situation and your future. The ideas behind SFH are based on the work of psychologists Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim deBerg and a technique they developed called Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Adding hypnosis is what separates SFH from SFBT. Hypnosis lowers anxiety and switches the mind into solution focused mode, which therefore enhances the solution work being carried out. SFH also borrows elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (pioneered by American psychologists Aaron T. Beck and Albert Ellis) and aspects of neuro linguistic programming (Richard Bandler and John Grinder).
