Rally Possum Super Powers At Work
LSU will again be hosting a Super Regional this weekend at Alex Box Stadium. The Tigers will attempt to take two games from Coastal Carolina and go on to the College World Series. The Tigers were mired in a mediocre season (11-10 SEC, 28-16 overall) before taking the first game of a three-game league series against Arkansas. In the second game, trailing 9-1, a possum ran onto the field. The Tigers rallied for a 10-9 ten-inning victory and have gone on to win sixteen of their last nineteen games. They finished their SEC slate 19-11, won three games in the SEC Tournament, and captured last week's Regional in Baton Rouge by topping a strong Rice team twice. The Rally Possum is working, but more importantly, the team is playing solid, fundamental baseball. A consistent batting lineup has LSU in every game. Pitching, led by returning All-American Alex Lange and junior Jared Poche will be key if the Tigers are to finish the season strong.
