LSU Grounds The Gamecocks With Guice And Fournette
LSU used its rushing game to beat South Carolina Saturday, 45-24. Heisman Trophy candidate Leonard Fournette ran for 158 yards and scored on an 87-yard jaunt on the second play of the third quarter. Freshman Derrius Guice contributed 161 yards and one touchdown as the Tigers rushed for 396 yards. The Tigers won their third SEC game of the year and remain unbeaten going into next week's game with unbeaten Florida. Both teams sport 5-0 records. While LSU rushed the ball well and quarterback Brandon Harris showed continued improvement, the Tigers special teams allowed a 96-yard kickoff return and were ineffective on other punt and kickoff coverage. Harris threw for two touchdowns and 228 yards.
