Fournette Needs To Focus And Ignore National Talking Heads
LSU running back Leonard Fournette has scored eight touchdowns while gaining 631 yards in leading the Tigers to three victories. The powerful sophomore has taken the early season lead for Heisman Trophy consideration. He rushed for over 200 yards in impressive performances against Auburn and Syracuse. Already there are certain sports personalities suggesting that Fournette should complete his second year with LSU and then sit out his junior year as a redshirt. The suggestion comes as an NCAA rule prevents college football players from applying for the NFL draft before they complete three years on campus (it can be two years playing and one year redshirting). The talking heads note that Fournette could lose a lot of money if he sustains a debilitating knee injury. Others in sports say he should just play out his three years of eligibility.
