“The “Psychogeographic Mapping of Mobility” is a hybrid of participatory urban research-, intervention- and performance-project. In this three week residency I want to critically analyze the physical and societal borders of the shared cityscape of Gàrcia – together in collective drifts in order to cross and expand these boundaries. The project will consist of two parts: 1. COLLECTIVE DÉRIVES and 2. a PARTICIPATORY-MAPPING-PLATFORM. The aim of this Situationist methodology is to investigate with a spatial focus and a broader sense of mobility within the social changes of neighbourhoods and surrounding”. 1. COLLECTIVE DÉRIVES The Situationist notion of letting oneself float, playfully leads to a new perception of urban space. Each participant can spontaneously decide which direction the drift will take next. In formats of different lengths, from 3 to 6 hours, freedom of movement is tested in a city criss-crossed with in- ternal and external borders. The urban drifting workshop will happen three times, in groups of circa 10 people. The body, our most intimate barricade, recovers its expansive potential. It recovers space, breathes freely while walking, and negotiates its desires in interaction with others. These walking performances will be the basis of the following two parts of the project. …
