Melisa Freund, director and playwright in Jiwar - Jiwar Barcelona
Born in Buenos Aires in 1980. Is a graduate in Dramaturgy from the School of Dramatic Arts of the city of Buenos Aires (School of Dramatic Art-EAD) She attended private dramaturgy workshops. She completed a Master’s degree in playwriting at the National University of Arts (UNA). She is currently in process of writing her thesis on the nature of politics in the current drama production, in relation to the production of 80’and 90′ She studied a master’s degree in dramaturgy at the National University of Arts (UNA) As an actress, she has participated in different plays in Buenos Aires and in national festivals. Her play “Not quite there” received a mention from the judges of the German Rozenmacher prize 2012, organized by the Buenos Aires International Theater Festival (International Theater Festival of Buenos Aires, FIBA) along with the Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center (Ricardo Rojas Cultural Centre). She coordinates acting and dramaturgy workshops from 2007 to the present in different institutions and artistic spaces. During the months of July and August 2015, she was invited to participate in the “Watermill Summer Program” directed by Bob Wilson at the Watermill Center, New York.
