Best Vampire Bat video ever | | i love WEREWOLVES
This is a video of a vampire bat running in slow motion. Most bats stick with flying instead of running on land, but the vampire bat is an exception. Unlike other bats, vampire bats are indeed capable of "running" on land using their forelimbs and hindlimbs to push themselves along the ground in an odd gallop-like gait, that, according to researchers is very unique. Researchers discovered that the bats could run close to 3 miles per hour! And if you're wondering how they discovered this - they actually put the vampire bats on a treadmill to see what they could do. Vampire bats can of course also fly... they do so by standing, then hopping into the air to take flight. And here's another interesting piece of info: vampire bats are said to be as smart as dogs!
