AirAsia plane exploded after it hit water, Indonesian search official says
JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- AirAsia Flight QZ8501 exploded after hitting the water, an Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency official told CNN on Monday, citing an analysis of debris patterns from the doomed jetliner. The official, who goes by the single name Supriyadi, said he came to that conclusion because part of the plane's tail was broken into pieces and a flight data recorder was thrown more than a kilometer (.62 miles).
