Sex offender who allegedly broke officer’s leg arrested
BUCKLEY -- A sex offender who allegedly struggled with a police officer Friday morning in Buckley, resulting in the officer breaking his leg, has been arrested. Derek Ferguson was arrested Monday afternoon. He was wanted for felony escape, and failing to register as a sex offender. Around 6:15 a.m. Friday, police served a warrant to the White River Senior Housing center in the 420 block of Spiketon Road in Buckley, where the suspect's grandmother lived, Police Chief Jim Arsanto said. Officers searched the home, looking for Ferguson, who had outstanding warrants for failing to register as a sex offender in King County.
