Woman collected Medicaid benefits while living in SI mansion: DA
BROOKLYN (PIX11) - A Staten Island woman collected 50-thousand in Medicaid benefits while lathering in a luxurious $2.4 million home. Hasime Lika was indicted Thursday in Brooklyn criminal court on charges of grand larceny, false instrument for filing, welfare fraud and petit larceny. “New York taxpayers fund Medicaid to help low-income families get necessary medical treatments, not to provide health insurance to wealthy individuals who would rather not pay for their own coverage,” said District Attorney Charles Hynes.
