‘Absolute, Disastrous Mess’: 6 Dead, Hundreds Hurt after Amtrak Train Derails
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (CNN)- LATEST: More than 200 people were treated at hospitals for injuries associated with Tuesday's night Amtrak train crash, Philadelphia emergency management director Sam Phillips said. • Seven members of the National Transportation Safety Board are at the derailment site in Philadelphia as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, and more are coming, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter said. Investigators will look at a number of factors, including the track, the train signals, the operation of the train, the mechanical condition of the train and human performance, NTSB board member Robert Sumwalt said.
