Jess: So I stumbled across an article posted by The Telegraph entitled "The top 10 family games for Christmas". I'll state right here and now, this list mad me sad. Sad for the state of our world, that it has come to this. A world where Monopoly, Scrabble, Bannanagrams, Risk, Trivial Pursuit, Chess, Cranium, Battleship, Jenga, and Clue are the best games we can come up with to share with our loved ones is a world doomed to mediocracy. I don't blame The Telegraph for their outdated opinions. Maybe they don't have any gamers on staff. The games on their list are classics for a reason. They are fun (at least some of them are), they have been around forever so everyone has an idea how to play, and you can buy them pretty much anywhere, but is that all we can aspire to? Come on people! I can name more than 10 games, without breaking a sweat, that would kick it up a notch at your next family gathering. So why not put aside these tired titles and try something new?
