Red, White, Blue, and Green by UrtheCast Gallery
As the U.S. capital, Washington, D.C. isn’t only draped in red, white and blue — it also boasts the most green roof space on the continent. The parks and gardens that surround its stately buildings and landmarks can’t go unnoticed, from ground nor space. And those gardens have extended to city roofs; a city-wide initiative that you can read more about over on our blog. Below, captured in fantastic detail (in sub-meter resolution) are some of Washington’s most impressive landmarks, including the Washington Monument. The iconic 170-meter-tall obelisk was built in commemoration of its namesake and first American President, George Washington.
