The Hall of Trees || Potholes State Park - TheEyreEffect
Hello dear friends! This weekend my family went camping at Potholes State Park, a green oasis set in the middle of desert country in Eastern Washington. While we were there, I took advantage of the beautiful scenery to exercise my creativity. One of the most eye-catching parts of the park was this amazing hall of trees, which I assume was planted in order to break the wind; there were several blocking the camping grounds from the open desert. And, while it was likely created to be practical, I loved how magical and fairytale-like it looked so of course I had to snap some photos! The sound of the massively tall trees rushing with wind as I took photos was absolutely transporting and I wish I could listen to that sound always. Not only did I take these photos, but also wrote a small bit of poetry which of course I will share here. I’ve been feeling so inspired of late. Ever since the fire, I’ve felt a harder drive to push myself creatively, to chase after the dreams of what I want to do, and to ensure that I’m not just sitting on ideas and letting them go stagnant. I may begin sharing more of my writings here as they come, and in the meantime… here’s this one. She wanders among the trees Waiting For her soul to release And float betwixt the leaves Clean as they tremble with The rush of the wind Or to dig deep and cold Between the darkness of the roots Nestled in the earth Giving life From what died before She waits And she watches And she dreams… — “She Waits” by Kristina Suko What do you do to ensure your dreams aren’t falling by the wayside?
