Retirement – 12698 LCol Zenon Myshkevich class of 1980 1. LCOL MYSHKEVICH WILL RETIRE FROM THE CAF IN MARCH 2017 AFTER 40 YEARS OF SERVICE. 2. LCOL MYSHKEVICH ENROLLED IN THE CAF IN 1976, COMPLETING TWO YEARS AT RRMC VICTORIA AND GRADUATING FROM RMC KINGSTON IN 1980 WITH DISTINCTION. UPON COMPLETION OF AERE OFFICER BASIC TRAINING IN BORDEN ONTARIO AND CONTACT TRAINING AT CFB SUMMERSIDE PEI, HE HEADED OFF TO CFB TRENTON ONTARIO WHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED AS AN AIRCRAFT SERVICING OFFICER AND AIRCRAFT REPAIR OFFICER ON THE CC 137 BOEING 707 AND CC 130 HERCULES AIRCRAFT. DURING HIS TOUR OF DUTY HE HAD THE PLEASURE OF TAKING PART IN NUMEROUS AIRLIFT EXERCISES IN CANADA’S NORTH AND EUROPE. IN 1983 LCOL MYSHKEVICH UNDERTOOK CONTINUOUS FRENCH LANGUAGE TRAINING IN TRENTON AND ST JEAN QUEBEC. HE WAS THEN POSTED TO NATIONAL DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS IN OTTAWA WHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED AS THE AIRCRAFT ENGINEERING OFICER FOR THE CC 144 CHALLENGER. AFTER OTTAWA, POSTINGS TO CFSATE BORDEN, 435 SQUADRON EDMONTON, THE DEFENCE AND CIVIL INSTITUTE OF ENVORONMENTAL MEDICINE TORONTO AND RECRUITING GROUP HEADQUARTERS BORDEN FOLLOWED. IN 2003 HE WAS SELECTED TO ATTEND CFC COURSE 30 AT THE CANADIAN FORCES COLLEGE WHERE HE ALSO COMPLETED HIS MASTERS IN DEFENCE STUDIES THROUGH RMC. UPON COMPLETION OF CFC, LCOL MYSHKEVICH WAS POSTED TO NDHQ WHERE HE BECAME THE PROJECT MANAGER FOR AIR TECHNICAL TRAINING RENEWAL PROJECT WITHIN THE CHIEF OF THE AIR STAFF. UPON PROMOTION TO LCOL HE WAS APPOINTED AS THE ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF AND CHIEF ENGINEERING SUPPORT OFFICER FOR THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF AEROSPACE EQUIPMENT AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN OTTAWA. 3. IN 2009 LCOL MYSHKEVICH WAS POSTED BACK TO TORONTO TO CFC AS A CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SECURITY AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS WHERE HE WAS INVOLVED IN SUPPORTING A WIDE RANGE OF INITIATIVES SUCH AS JCSP CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT, CSSP COURSES AND NSP EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING VISITS TO OTTAWA, NEW YORK CITY AND WASHINGTON DC. 4. LCOL MYSHKEVICH WILL BE RETIRING IN TORONTO WITH HIS WIFE LYDIA AND TWO CHILDREN, ANDRIY AND CHRISTINA. A DEPART WITH DIGNITY CEREMONY FOR LCOL MYSHKEVICH WILL BE HELD AT THE ARMOUR HEIGHTS OFFICERS MESS AT 1200 HRS 21 MARCH 2017.
