Pre-Holiday Prep — ELISE SANTOS
Before I go on vacation I like to do some pre-holiday prep. This involves not only packing, but also stocking up on beauty essentials and scheduled pampering. I like to stock up on usual products that I can’t live without overseas. For me, it’s important to have my hair freshly coloured/cut, skin looking health, and nails painted. Last Saturday, I got some fresh blonde done at Mojka Hair Sydney. Much to my hairdressers dismay, I stopped using purple shampoo for two weeks up until my appointment, so that she and I could see the true brass colour of my hair. Before and after: As you can see I was stinging for a cut and colour because my scalp looks like the Cynthia doll from Rugrats. Added some more bleach and colouring to correct the base blonde. Next time, I’d like to slowly incorporate more brown into the roots and move the tones into a balayage. Hair Care It takes a lot of $$$, products, and maintenance for a naturally black-haired person to remain blonde. I currently alternate between a gentle shampoo and Fanola No Yellow Purple Shampoo to get the right shade and minimise brassiness. As a conditioner, I use …
