HALLOWEEN MUSIC: 10 MORE SPOOKY SONGS - A Blog About Nothing
Halloween is great for amateurs, but I’m spooky all year long. That’s why I have been faithfully working on this creepy Halloween music playlist. This post is actually a follow-up to my playlist on Halloween party music from a few years ago, which you can read here. I’m always adding to this playlist, however, so I have some new spooky tracks for you guys. Put them on at your next ritual sacrifice or coven convention! It should be noted that these are not necessarily songs about Halloween/ghouls/death, but more spooky songs that create a creepy mood. The Zombies – She’s Not There Where did she go? Is she a ghost? A vampire? A ghoul? You’ll have to listen to the song to find out, I guess. What, you don’t know The Zombies?! Read more about them here. Screamin’ Jay Hawkins – I Put a Spell On You The original version of this song is good too, but I was just digging this video because I love Hawkins’s performance of this song. The Shacks – This Strange Effect Well, apparently, this song is in the latest iPhone commercial, so I’m not playing anything for you guys that you haven’t already heard. But guess what. It was on my December 2016 playlist. I’m not saying that I should be picking the songs for commercials on TV, but I am available. The Doors – People Are Strange I recently toured the Ellison in Venice, where apparently Jim Morrison once lived. In fact, Lana Del Rey rents his room once per month, presumably to do witchcraft during the full moon. Fiona Apple – Criminal This song and video used to scare the bejeezus out of me when I was a kid! It’s still a great song, and a great karaoke go-to. Dusty Springfield – Spooky This is probably my favorite cover of this song. I don’t know who styled Dusty Springfield here though. Like honestly? A peasant dress with a beehive and butterfly necklace? That’s what’s truly spooky here. Eagles – Witchy Woman UM HELLO?! How did I miss this one the first time around? Y’all know I love the Eagles. I’ve even stood on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. Anyways, I like to fantasize that this song was written about Stevie Nicks. Teen Sensations – Monster Beach Party I’m not sure if this is like a novelty band formed just to play this…
