We can take steps to fix the problem, and ex-felon voting rights is a good place to start One of the most urgent riddles in the criminal justice field is recidivism. We punish offenders for breaking the law, then we send them back out on the streets to offend again. The old way of thinking assumes that fear of punishment will cause people to avoid criminality.
