Coals of fire over Jerusalem - Cherubim, a wheel within a wheel, and living creatures by the Kebar River (Ezekiel 10:1 - 10:20) - Bible Blender
Ezekiel’s description of the event paints the picture of a bizarre occurrence. However, we must realize that Ezekiel may not have understood the mechanisms he was witnessing and described them the best he could. As Ezekiel watched the inexplicable event unravel, the man in linen takes coals from the cherubim and pours them on the city. The symbolism is clear - it is an act of purification – and judgement.
