D'shon Taylor headed to Iraq | 10th Year Seniors
Former Norfolk State University star D'Shon Taylor will be taking his game to the next level this fall, as the 6'5" wingman signed a pro contract to play for Al Mina of the Iraq Basketball League last week. As a senior at Norfolk State, he averaged 13.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals. He appeared in 33 games and made 29 starts. He was also a standout for the Bahamian national team that played in the Centrobasket tournament in Panama City, Panama. His eight point, six-rebound performance in a win over Nicaragua was his best of the tournament. Team Bahamas went on to finish seventh at Centrobasket, which featured some of the top players in the world. Along with Centrobasket, Taylor also played in a pair of pro-am tournaments to boost his stock before signing. For his effort, he was named to the 2016 Portsmouth Basketball All-Tournament team and earned honorable mention for his play in the Gotham Hoops Invitational.
