I spent 2 1/2 years doing an undergrad in Human Relations and realized I really didn’t like it. I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life, so I applied to a variety of part-time jobs. Lo and behold, who calls back? The CPE of École Maïmonide! I said alright; I’ve worked with kids before; I can do this! My time there over the past 9 years has brought me closer to Judaism. I know it sounds silly, but it’s true! I came from a Jewish family, but we were not kosher or religious. We were traditional, and the focus was on bringing family together. But working at Maïmonide has made me look at Judaism differently. Through arts & crafts, activities and songs, whatever the kids are learning, I am learning at the same time! It's been cool - Judaism has not only become part of my work life, but my home life as well!
