Immaculata University Adds Esports to Its Athletic Programs
Electronic Sports (Esports) is a growing segment of collegiate competition, and starting this fall, Immaculata University is launching its own program. Immaculata University will become a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) and compete in the East Coast Conference. Esports are team-based video game competitions watched in person or online by spectators. All of Immaculata’s matches will be streamed online for viewing. Like traditional sports, players wear team jerseys, compete in arenas and communicate with teammates and coaches as the game unfolds.
