The Devil's Spine Going to Layout - Monte Cook Games
Even if you don’t normally like published adventures, you’re going to want to check out the Devil’s Spine, just for the art. Imagine being able to pull out this illustration and say to your players, “You see this…” (Art by Jason Engle. And that’s low-res. Wait ’till you see it for real.) The Devil’s Spine will have 16 wonderful, evocative pieces like that (in addition to regular illustrations and, of course, maps in the text), designed to be shown to the players to illustrate an encounter, scene, or vista that is a part of the adventure. This grand adventure takes PCs to all kinds of strange locales and really conveys the flavor of Numenera–weird, dangerous, wondrous, and creepy, all at once. It’s full of new creatures, places, devices, and more, as well as some pretty cool adventures that the whole group will remember for a long time to come. We’ve had a wonderful time creating and playtesting this. I’ve never believed in the “just another adventure module” approach, but even by my own standards, this one is really something special. The Devil’s Spine will be out in October in ebook and print. It is a 96-page, full-color book that retails for $24.99.
