Mindfulness Breathing with Awareness of Godliness
These guided practices are a traditional interpretation of Patanjali's Yogasutra aphorisms on establishing the Iśwara samāpatti (engrossment in godliness) in āsana practice, and then invoking the breathwork for a prānāyāma practice. In these classes, His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda shows how the devotion to God can be combined with the traditional practice of mindfulness developed through synchronized breathwork. Unlike the attainment of stillness by establishing calmness of ananta samāpatti through stepwise relaxation of musculature and body parts, the approach taught here on establishing godliness of Iśwara samāpatti contrasts by invoking chanting the Om and listening to the Om.
