POSTCARDS FROM CHINA
As a business owner in the Fashion Industry people always ask... 'Where are your clothes made? Where do you Manufacture?' When I say China I feel people really get this worried look on their face. I get asked, do you use sweat shops? Do you have child labor? Do you know who makes your clothes? I was so upset by these immediate accusations that it prompted me to put together this latest post where I can showcase the companies that work alongside me to bring my ideas to life. It allows you to come behind the scenes with me on my latest China trip. Where I am proud to show all these hard working dedicated individuals, the factories, the faces and the makers who are all accredited, trained & educated. I focus on building relationships with the least amount of factories and like to have specialised suppliers for every piece. I have a manufacturer who specialises in Ready to Wear, another for Knitwear, another for Denim etc. Our Ready to Wear Factory is dedicated to high end designer brands and is owned by 2 Australians who live between here and China but their families reside in Sydney, so they are dedicated to running a reputable business. The biggest challenge you ask me? Well its finding people that want to work with me. The details in every style are so difficult and I make changes to perfect every piece until the last second. Every IXIAH piece takes from12-24 months on average to create and perfect. Meet a few of the important members of our team....
