The hike up Mt Batur had been freezing cold, but the way back down was positively roasting… It was still early in the morning so the temperature wasn’t horrific, but we could feel the heat begin to rise around us… By the time we were at the bottom we were a.) dying for a wee (overshare?) and b.) so. HOT. We said a fond goodbye to Wayan who’d looked after us so well on the hike – it seemed strange he’d been so quiet for the first part but we’d had a long chat and on the way down he was loudly (and badly 😉 ) singing No Woman No Cry… Actually – wait a minute – it was just me and Legs… I hope his song wasn’t a subtle hint 😂.
