Labyrinthine Tunnels | Deepa Panchamia
Labyrinthine Tunnels | Deepa Panchamia Textile artist Deepa Panchamia’s Labyrinthine Tunnels are towering sculptures composed of leather and nylon. Deepa painstakingly pleats, stitches and cuts the fabric to create intertwining folds with a sense of endlessness. Exterior meets interior and unfolds into what seems like a infinite maze. Textures and patterns morph into one another “the transition between inner, outer and reflected space”. Deepa Panchamia | Textile Art Deepa's body of work is largely textile sculptures, installation pieces and wearable art. She conveys the intertwining notions of scale and space, structure and surface with her sculptural art. Deepa found herself drawn to textiles as a means of canvas while completing her degree in Decorative Arts. Deepa Panchamia's ethos is to challenge the conventional view of materials.
