Join Our Team - Contract Attorney: Corporate Outreach, Taiwan - Mercy For Animals
To provide legal support and guidance for Mercy For Animals’ corporate outreach efforts in Taiwan and ensure all campaign materials and correspondence published by the organization are legally compliant Responsibilities and Duties: Review all documents created by MFA’s corporate outreach department in furtherance of their corporate campaigns and edit, as necessary, for compliance with applicable laws and policies Research and analyze Taiwan laws and policies on free speech, defamation, and intellectual property Assist MFA’s corporate outreach efforts by drafting documents and attending meetings Coordinate with MFA’s other corporate outreach attorneys Respond to communications from companies that are the subject of current or proposed MFA corporate campaigns Work with the animal welfare specialist and members of the corporate outreach department to help determine appropriate content for new campaigns Handle any other legal issues that may arise during the day-to-day operations of MFA’s corporate outreach work Requirements: Law degree from an accredited law school Preferred minimum of 3–5 years’ experience practicing law Fluency in English Thorough knowledge of animal rights legal issues and MFA’s campaigns Demonstrated ability to create and deliver presentations, address and overcome problems, and negotiate with third parties Proven exceptional organizational and writing skills Ability to work well in a team setting Outstanding interpersonal skills Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle Commitment to the objectives of the organization Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Mercy For Animals provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, pregnancy, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran.
