Our Halloween in Pictures - Meet the Wildes
Halloween is one of my favourite holidays. It’s a nostalgic thing – I think of Halloween and I remember being small, dressed up in clothes that didn’t quite fit (physically or thematically), wielding my optimistic black sack for candy. We would team up with the rest of the neighbourhood children and hunt as a pack, confident in our numbers, chattering and sugar-high after dark. Nobody wore coats; our blue lips were authentic. Somebody inevitably mixed up their festivities and brought sparklers; clutched in our woollen gloves, they were simultaneously thrilling and terrifying. We would crunch the caramel from our toffee apples and then toss the fruit aside. It’s something that I’m excited to share with my children, whilst at the same time a little wistful that it won’t be the same. They won’t have that freedom that I experienced as a child, it was different then. It seems that fun…
