Not everyone is as lucky as I am. Trust me, it’s true. Not everyone gets a good morning text with hearts. Not everyone gets random phone calls because you ‘just wanted to hear my voice.’ Not everyone gets forehead kisses, nose kisses, cheek kisses, kisses at all. Not everyone gets someone to support them and cheer for them through the good and the bad. Not everyone gets to hold hands or dance in the park or laugh until they cry. Not everyone has inside jokes with someone they trust. Not everyone gets to love, but more than that, not everyone gets to feel loved. And because of you, I’m the luckiest person in the world.

Excerpt from a book I’ll never write

can we all come together and agree that the saying “no one can truly love you until you love yourself” is trash. loving yourself takes time, and it isn’t always easy. Know that there are people out there who love you, even when you struggle to.

“Being in love is a very strange thing. Your thoughts constantly drift towards this other person, no matter what you’re doing. You could be reaching for a glass in the cupboard or brushing your teeth or listening to someone tell a story, and your mind will just start drifting towards their face, their hair, the way they smell, wondering what they’ll wear, and what they’ll say the next time they see you. And on top of the constant dream state you’re in, your stomach feels like it’s connected to a bungee cord, and it bounces and bounces around for hours until it finally lodges itself next to your heart.”

Pittacus Lore, The Power of Six

If someone is wearing makeup in the pool, don’t deliberately splash them. If someone has done their hair nicely, don’t mess it up. If someone in a t-shirt has scars on their arms, don’t ask them about it. If someone doesn’t want to get in the water, don’t push them. If someone still wants to wear jeans, don’t laugh at them for it. If someone has sweat patches, don’t point them out. If someone’s chest is obviously prominent, don’t stare. If you can see someone’s underwear/ binder, don’t comment on it. If someone is blatantly covering something up, don’t try to reveal it.

Not everyone can feel totally comfortable with the fact it’s Summer, don’t make them feel worse.

this is so important
