LESSONS FROM EACH MONTH SO FAR ‘23:

jan: new beginnings might not look like how you expect them to

feb: healthy love can feel hard when you’re not used to it, but it’s worth every minute of growth and happiness

march: it’s okay to rethink your dreams

april: traditional paths don’t guarantee success

may: taking time to reevaluate your priorities and values is important

june: meeting new people can be scary but it can help you find your people

the true backlash started on this blog after a harry potter houses mention. at the time i did not know quite how transphobic and beyond jkr is and still found comfort in her fiction. i would like to apologize to anyone i upset that day. it made this not feel like a safe space for many months, and i never expected that.

love, heart

healing can be uncomfortable

stitches mending a deep cut,

exercising to gain strength,

facing the past to get to the future,

eating when your instinct is to reject it,

talking about things you don’t want to remember.

the process sounds so like it should be so kind and gentle, like a relief. and once you’ve kept at it, it is those things. but during the part where you have to keep moving forward, taking steps back, and moving forward again, it’s unpleasant. still, remember that the next part is the healed part.
