I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

Things to keep in mind about Jet since his tag is probably going to become more active with the show being on Netflix again:

Jet was orphaned at age 8 when the Rough Rhinos (Fire Nation) burned the village he lived in, killing his entire family.
Jet is an indigenous boy whose land is under violent occupation and colonization by the Fire Nation.
Jet has unresolved PTSD.
Jet lacked the support and guiding influences that everyone in the Gaang had. Even Zuko had his Uncle Iroh.
Jet learned to lie and steal to survive.
Jet’s entire world was the forest after his village burned. He doesn’t have a worldly perspective, hence why he thinks he has a bigger impact on the Fire Nation than he actually does.
Jet’s unresolved anger runs so deep that he’s unable to differentiate between Fire Nation military and civilians. He craves revenge (like Katara eventually does), but his targets are wrong. He’s afraid of what happened to his village happening all over again.
He was not able to fully heal from his past on his own. He could have, if he lived long enough to reconcile with Zuko.
A 16 year old is not a grown man.
He died trying to do the right thing.
Jet is clever.
Jet is brave.
Jet is generous.
Jet is charismatic.
Jet was not crazy.
Jet was not inherently bad.
Jet deserved a much better ending than the writers were willing to give him.

THANK YOU!! yes, he was wrong for what he did but so many people are forgetting what war can do. tbh i’m kind of annoyed at how people are forgetting all of these important points when it comes to judging his character, and especially when those people have absolutely no idea what it feels like to belong to a group that is suffering from genocide, what it feels like to have another military come and take over your land + kill your people.
