One thing I'll say about Futurama is that it was progressive in how it allowed Fry and Bender to be close friends--to the point that they showed affection in their weird ways and got jealous if someone threatened to come between them--without pulling "no homo" bullshit or acting like close male friendships are somehow "unmanly."
