If you’ve ever tried to identify mushrooms using a key but you found it lacking in visual stimulation…this pictorial key made by amateur mycologist Danny Miller might help! I’m a visual thinker and information laid out in this format sticks right into my brain whereas other info doesn’t always stick. Hope this can be helpful for anyone looking to improve their mushroom identification skills or get a visual idea of the diversity of macrofungi in the Pacific Northwest

Okay, here it is, the first small business mushroom gift guide of the season! Everything in this list mentioned is under $21!

First mention is NeedleGnomeStudio. They have an entire Mushroom Face Mask section of their online shop that’s pretty impressive.

Next mention is my friend Anna of MoonwalkMushrooms with these amazing mushroom stickers!

Third, Crochetpumpkin is a grandmother who makes adorable crocheted mushrooms (and other fruits and veg!)

Fourth, CecilBerrube has charming art prints featuring forest creatures AND mushrooms!

Fifth, HareBrushInc has incredible holographic hand drawn mushroom stickers!

Okay, so I make almost 11 an hour (10.97) I was wondering if its possible to move out on my own. I've thought about roommates but I am turned off at the idea for the moment. I know it depends on my area and how much I'm willing to spend most places I've seen range from 700-950. Any tips or advice.

Do you work 40hrs a week? What about taxes?

Let’s say you work 40 hrs a week at 10.97/hr. That yields 1760 per month. It sounds like it can be done!

The best way to budget is make a list of your income and expenses. An example is as follows:

Income

Gross Income= 1760

Taxes= (-212)

Healthcare= (-50)

Net Income= 1498

Expenses

Rent= (-800)

Utilities= (-50)

WIFI= (-50)

Phone= (-100)

Car= (-200)

Food= (-250)

Leftover= ~50/month

This gives you very little savings and little emergency fund. Plus, it doesn’t account for entertainment, subscription services you pay for, clothes, beauty, household goods, etc.

But see what you can do! Your expenses may be more or less depending on your spending and needs!
