What you do TODAY helps determine the future of our Super Information highway
SO you’re in the UK like me. Or the EU in general. High speed internet is a ‘right’ here. We won’t be affected, right?
Right?
Wrong.
If you watch YouTube then you’re in for a world of hurt. Not only will American Youtubers have their uploads strangled, but their viewers will drop off at an alarming rate as people can’t afford the extra and the internet is too slow to watch videos and streams. Less views, less revenue, less money to pay bills.
Even International youtubers will go broke as their American audience drops off. Big Youtubers may still make a living, but everyone else will drop off the platform.
There are far bigger issues at steak here. Censorship, corruption etc, but if you’re reading this you watch YouTube.
Act now or lose it forever. Spread the word to all your fandoms.
Go protest.
I’ve often wondered what would kill the immortal object that is the Internet, but if anything is gonna do it, this is gonna be it.
This is super imporant. Go to this site and protest. For just a few minutes of your time we could save the internet so please take a second. If you can’t call or email them then share this site around so we can get as many people as possible
I don’t know about the rest of you but I certainly don’t want to lose the internet, let alone lose it because of some Congress shitheads that only care about money
The FCC sided with Comcast and decided to let ISPs censor the internet. The Internet needs to stop this from happening: http://cms.fightforthefuture.org/tellfcc/
Last Wednesday, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler announced a proposal for new rules that would allow for a “ fast lane” of Internet traffic for content providers who are willing (and able) to pay a fee. [1] The proposal reverses the FCC’s previous commitment to net neutrality and open internet and allows ISP’s like Comcast or Verizon to slow down and censor services that don’t pay the toll.
We have to be totally honest, this situation is seriously grim. But there is still hope. The FCC already knows that the Internet community wants net neutrality, but they think they can put their spin on these new rules and sneak them through. If we can prove them wrong right now with a massive public outcry, we can literally save the Internet once again.
We need to stop the FCC now. Big business groups are already ramping up lobbying efforts with the FCC in swarms since Wednesday’s announcement in support of censoring the open Internet and to ensure this dangerous proposal moves forward. [2]
This is a critical moment. In the last few weeks more than 65,000 people have taken action with us. Can you help us get to 80,000 by the end of the day today?

we’re almost ¾ of the way there!! c’mon guys, every bit counts!
will it ever stop
fucking signal boost
IF YOU ARE NOT SIGNAL BOOSTING THIS YOU ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION.
IF THE U.S. FALLS TO THIS IT WILL OPEN OTHER DANGEROUS DOORS INTERNATIONALLY.
Start a civil war against the US government.
Signal boost for my us followers
I try to keep the things I reblog as blog/mun-centric as possible, but this is something I just can’t let slide.
I’ve been following this cause since last year. I’ve signed petitions, I’ve called representatives, I’ve been to protests, the whole nine yards.
This right here? This is not a joke. This is seriously happening, guys.
Remember the Wikipedia shutdown? That was to protest this right here. If you haven’t taken action against this yet, frankly, what is wrong with you? If this doesn’t get stopped, we’re going to lose the thing that brings us all together unless we shell out huge sums of cash to these corrupt bastards.
Do not just sit there and keep browsing.
Do not scroll past this.
Fight.
yo this shit important okay? im pretty worried myself
To my American followers: call your representatives. I have a ton of American friends that I may not be able to talk to if this goes through. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES SO YOU DONT RISK LOSING CONTACT WITH YOUR AMERICAN FRIENDS.
The human trafficking crisis in Africa needs more attention. Africans are being sold like slaves and there has yet to be outrage in the western world. There is literally video footage of Africans being sold to Arabs. SLAVERY IS STILL ALIVE AND WELL

If I may quote Sarah Kendzior, remember when the media said she was being hyperbolic about the threat of Trump’s extremism rhetoric and the rise of white nationalist violence in general?
Call it what it is. This isn’t a protest.
Four CBC journalists will share anchor duties as the network revamps The National to offer an expanded digital focus along with more insight and analysis on the day’s news, the public broadcaster announced today.
Senior correspondent Adrienne Arsenault, Power & Politics host Rosemary Barton, Vancouver local news host Andrew Chang and News Network anchor Ian Hanomansing were named hosts for the program that will debut in November.
Arsenault and Hanomansing will host from Toronto, Barton will be in Ottawa and Chang will continue to be based in Vancouver.
With multiple hosts, the four will all still be able to take turns reporting in the field. Barton, Hanomansing and Chang will stop hosting their shows sometime in the coming months.
Canada’s linguistic make-up is becoming more diverse, as the share of Canadians who speak a language other than French or English at home is increasing.
But the rate of French-English bilingualism in Canada has also never been higher.
These are some of the trends revealed by the latest Statistics Canada release from the 2016 census of the population.
In a few weeks, a fresh crop of medical students will begin classes at the University of Toronto.
By this time next year, Aquila Akingbade would like to be one of them.
The aspiring neurosurgeon is in the process of preparing a nerve-racking batch of applications for Canadian medical schools, but thanks to a two-year-old U of T program, he doesn’t have to go it alone.
The Community of Support (CoS), as the program is called, exists to help black, Indigenous and economically disadvantaged students across Canada successfully apply to medical school.
For Akingbade, that’s meant access to mentors and to a current medical school student to help him navigate the process.
Maybe if I reblog it it will become the truth

This is the magic a$ap, if you don’t reblog it this will be the first year you’re broke
